FOOD 4 LESS/RANCHO SAN MIGUEL MARKETS provides a Salary Savings 401(k) Plan for eligible employees that have a pretax and post tax options.

Our traditional pretax 401(k) plan is an employer-sponsored retirement account that allows an employee to dedicate a percentage of their pretax salary to a retirement account.

Another option is a post tax Roth 401(k) which is an employer sponsored savings plan that gives employees the option of investing after-tax dollars for retirement. Although you pay taxes on your contributions, withdrawals that you take at retirement (after age 59 1/2) will be tax free if the account has been funded for at least five years.

Both options give you the power to invest your funds in the stock market. The idea is that the value of the stocks and bonds you invest in go up over the years you spend working, leaving you with a fluffy cushion of cash when you retire.
